Trend Model SELL Signal EOD on 5/16/11

Filed under: Trend Timing Model — Rich Trend Trader @ 3:34 am

The market action today resulted in a trend model SELL signal being issued.  It should be noted that 4 of the previous 5 SELL signals of this type have ‘failed’ in that the market did not move down to valuation levels low enough to issue a BUY signal before moving higher.

Trend Model Near a SELL Signal after 5/13/2011

Filed under: Trend Timing Model — Rich Trend Trader @ 12:52 am

The market is again aligned to give a trend model SELL signal. The signal can occur in one of two ways:

1. If the S&P 600, S&P 400, and S&P 500 all close lower on the same day (below the open values on 5/13) without the trend indicator not turning positive them a SELL signal will be issued. The most basic form of this is for the indices to close lower on 5/16.

2. The market moves higher with the trend indicator turning positive and then negative without the internal trend signals both turning up, then a SELL signal will be issued.

Recall that I us two market trading services so am not at liberty to give specifics concerning signals or data values.
